Wireless has evolved from Marconi’s kiloscale station-to-station telegraphy, through megascale station-to-people broadcasting, to today’s gigascale people-to-people cellular telephony. The Internet of Everything could take us to the terascale. My research is focused on overcoming the impediments to achieving that scale. Current research concerns beamforming and steering arrays for wireless power transfer, and field-programmable things arrays (FPTAs) to reduce NRE cost and permit in-field modification.
