Lana Dakan is the Foundation’s Global Reproductive Health director, working to expand equitable access to quality reproductive health care, especially for women and youth. Lana joined the Foundation in 2006 and has over 25 years of experience working on reproductive health and rights in the U.S. and globally. She has designed and executed strategic grantmaking strategies to advance reproductive health and rights in India, Pakistan, Philippines, Myanmar, and the U.S. South.
Lana has served on the board of the Funders for Reproductive Equity and currently serves on the board of Amplify Change, a fund that supports civil society organizations who advocate for improved sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Lana worked in Indonesia for USAID and Pathfinder International providing strategic and technical assistance on programs to expand access to quality family planning services. Lana served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines, and she speaks Indonesian. She holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Occidental College.
