Shayla Chandler is a program associate for the Global Reproductive Health initiative for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She supports the Foundation’s grantmaking, working to expand equitable access to quality reproductive health care, especially for women and youth.
Prior to joining the foundation, she acquired a few years of experience in grantmaking, specifically in supporting impact litigation funding. Before entering philanthropy, they worked in various healthcare fields such as fertility and caregiving. They come with years of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experience in organizational settings and was a DEI Coordinator for a large fertility clinic. During her time there, Shayla created and led a committee, titled the Racial Awareness and Action Committee, which was dedicated to instilling equity-based practices and education. Their dedication to justice led her to be named an Ambassador of Pierce County by Washington State’s House of Representatives.
Shayla holds a bachelor’s degree in public health – global health from the University of Washington and has a rich history working in public service. Shayla enjoys singing, writing, and spending time with her friends and cat, Rosemary.
