Beatrice Chen is the Board Liaison and Executive Assistant in the President’s Office. She comes to the Foundation with over 18 years of experience as a paralegal in the tri-valley, where she handled complex family law litigation matters.
In addition to her work at the Foundation, Beatrice volunteers with The Uhuru Movement grants team, lending her expertise to grant writing and submissions. She is also co-founder of a 501(c)(3) organization focused on addressing the basic needs of the unhoused in the South Bay and San Francisco. Beatrice formed this non-profit with a few friends she met while volunteering at the InnVision shelter network (now known as LifeMoves), and enjoys being able to make a tangible impact on the community.
During her free time, Beatrice enjoys learning about efforts to re-wild suburban landscapes with California native plants, fostering dogs through two breed-specific animal rescues, and exploring the Bay Area where she grew up. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Asian American Studies from UC Davis.
