Jamie Chen is a program operations manager supporting the David and Lucile Packard Foundation’s work on strengthening civil society and leadership and racial justice in the U.S.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Jamie led equity-focused operations and growth for Sacred Heart Community Service’s La Mesa Verde, a network of low-income urban gardeners in San Jose. She also worked as a community organizer at Sacred Heart, developing and elevating community leadership on food access, immigration, housing, and economic justice. She honed her interest and expertise in community power and operations as the manager of multi-lingual field teams at Working Partnerships, which registered thousands of new voters and engaged residents in local elections.
Jamie holds a Master of Science in organizational and social psychology from the London School of Economics, where she studied psychological safety between grantmakers and grantseekers, and a Bachelor of Arts in history and concentration in Asian American studies from Columbia University.
