Shaphan joined the David and Lucile Packard Foundation as an Executive Assistant in August 2022, after relocating to the Bay Area, from her home state of Texas. She provides support to the Vice President, Just Societies.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Shaphan held roles with mission-driven organizations and firms in the legal field. At a nonprofit in Northwest Texas, she started a volunteer program with the goal of expanding pro-bono legal services in low-resource areas. Before that, she spent a few years in Austin, Texas, working for an immigration law firm helping others obtain residency, citizenship, and preventing possible deportation. She helped manage day-to-day operations and provided high-level administrative support.
Shaphan graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Public Administration and minor in Political Science. When she is away from the office and Outlook, you might find her on a hike, planning an upcoming trip, spending time with her cat Stephan, or keeping in touch with her family.
